To try to persuade a group of people in a sly or deceptive manner, who made plans to attend a certain place, event, or gathering to do something else when they are already en route or at the predetermined agreed upon destination for selfish reasons.

Melissa: Hey guys, they have 1/2 price appletinis at Splash! Let's go there!
Joe: Ummm we already called the cab and that shit's cross town.
