Backtracking

When you realise something you did wasn’t as good as you thought so you have to hurry the fuck jo and fix it.
A good case of backtracking:

“HIS NAME WAS SEBASTIAN AT BIRTH BUT HE HAD TO CHANGE IT WHEN HE FAKED HIS DEATH. HES STILL HARRY STYLES AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE REFERRED TO AS HARRY NOT SEBASTIAN. ITS STILL AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN A HARRY FIC LMAODNDJD ok im gonna go stare at a wall now”

Words you can keep

Backtracking

When on the computer, you type so fast to someone that when you make a mistake, you instead skip ahead of it and then hold down backspacing instead of pressing the left arrow key
Jim: Why do you type slower than usual?

Bob: Sorry I keep backtracking

Backtracking

A added feature in popular PVPVE game Sea of Thieves.
Was added as a skill-gap between the more knowledgeable players and the newer players, giving newer players a slight advantage over the experienced Pirates.
Backtracking means shooting a player behind his character, yet the shoot is still hitting them making the other player take damage.

The Rule of Backtracking

The Rule of Backtracking mainly applies to the game Dead Space, where the player does a lot of backtracking throughout the levels. Basically, if you leave an area where you've killed monsters and then come back, those monsters will have mysteriously respawned. It's handy for players to know, especially on Impossible Mode, that just because you have cleared out an area does not mean that it's totally safe for the rest of the game.
Pedro: What the heck is this crap? Man, I swore I cleaned out this area, and now there are more monsters! I don't have any med packs left!
Napoleon: Dude, the Rule of Backtracking, man.
*player is mauled to death by a Necromorph*
Napoleon: Told you.

Forceful backtracking

The change of one’s action or opinions after an event or situation that was forced and would’ve continued if the event or situation didn’t occur
He spent years bullying him and never felt bad about it, but after the kid took his own life, his apologies just sounded like forceful backtracking.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
