The act of leaving a religion or cult.

My friend no longer wants to be a Muslim but they’re afraid of the consequences because in their religion there are harsh consequences for anyone that attempts to apostasize (apostatize).

Human-Ape: You're abandoning ME?!
Chris: HAHA!,.. bitch just got APESTRASIZED!
