Analytic Hyperrealism
A form of hyperrealism applied to philosophy, neuroscience, and the cognitive sciences—the belief that analytic methods, formal logic, and computational models don't just describe but exhaust the reality of mind and thought. Analytic Hyperrealism mistakes the map for the territory, the model for the mind. It assumes that if consciousness can be modeled computationally, it is computational; if thought can be analyzed logically, it is logical. It dismisses phenomenology, qualitative experience, and embodied cognition as "unscientific" or "mere philosophy." The result is a flattened picture of mind that captures everything measurable and nothing that matters—a perfect model of a ghost, with no ghost inside.
Example: "He'd reduced consciousness to information processing, love to oxytocin levels, meaning to neural patterns. Analytic Hyperrealism had convinced him that what could be measured was all that existed. When she spoke of the felt quality of experience, he called it 'unscientific.' He had a perfect map of the territory and no idea he'd never left the map."

Analytic Sophism
The use of analytic philosophy's tools—conceptual analysis, precise distinctions, thought experiments—to defend positions that common sense rejects or to obscure rather than clarify. Analytic Sophism deploys the apparatus of analytic philosophy (clarity, rigor, precision) in the service of obfuscation, using technical language to avoid engagement, distinctions to evade substance, thought experiments to distract from reality.

Analytic Postmodernism
A seemingly paradoxical synthesis of analytic philosophy's commitment to clarity, rigor, and argument with postmodernism's insights about contingency, construction, and power. Analytic Postmodernism uses the tools of analytic philosophy—precise definitions, careful arguments, logical analysis—to explore postmodern themes: the construction of truth, the politics of knowledge, the contingency of categories. It's postmodernism that doesn't abandon reason but deploys it self-consciously, aware of its own limits and situatedness. Analytic Postmodernism is the philosophy of those who want to think clearly about why clear thinking isn't enough.
Example: "He loved analytic philosophy's rigor but found it naïve about power. He loved postmodernism's insights but found it needlessly obscure. Analytic Postmodernism gave him both: rigorous analysis of contingent truths, careful arguments about constructed realities. He could think clearly about why clarity wasn't everything."
