air grab 

to grasp at the air, usually performed by moving your arm upwards abruptly - grabbing at the air - then bringing you arm (slowly) back towards your body.

usually used in combination with slow music (at the beginning of a bar/phrase), or at the climax(es) of a piece, to show the impact certain musical features have apon you.

it is quite hard to describe without seeing one yourself... but it's quite a deep action, you yourself will feel when a musical air grab is necessary. (in your heart or something)

go now, sit down to your favorite track and feel the air grabs come (you should bear in mind that they work much better in slower sort of "emotional" type songs. Not emo, or screamo
etc.) !

Air Grabber 

A hood with a trap door on a plymouth musclecar which opens to deliver cold air to the carbs via/switch under dashboard. A dodge version of hood is called "Ramcharger"

Not all Roadrunners came with the air grabber hood.

What happens when one reaches (with lust) to squeeze a desirable body part of a significant other. . . but the recipient pulls from reach just before any contact is made.

He reached forward to squeeze her butt as she got up from the couch. But she moved quicker than his hand. . . and he ended up grabbing air.
