Versus Video

The Versus Video is an online video-debate on YouTube whereby the host of the video will discuss a hypothetical fight involving some of the better known fictional protagonists from the media of films, television, graphic novels, and video games to decide the likely winner.
Most Versus Videos on YouTube follow a general set of guidelines/rules -- in no particular order -- when discussing any hypothetical fight and will contain some or all of the following criteria:

1.The host of the video -- regardless of their favourite character -- is always fair and unbiased about the fight.

2.The host of the video will discuss all the relevant historical and background information about the opposing protagonists.

3.The host of the video will discuss all the relevant strengths and weaknesses (if any) of the opposing protagonists, and compare and contrast their respective skill sets and power levels.

4.The host of the video will draw a conclusion, based on the evidence, of how the hypothetical fight -- in their opinion -- will end.

5.The host of the video will seek the opinions and comments of the viewers about the fight.
The following (below) are some examples -- with the actual comments of the hosts included -- of versus videos on YouTube:

1.WHO WOULD WIN: Darth Vader or Darth Bane?
by yarealpoof aka Matt's Corner
Be fair and unbiased. This is not a "favorite" contest this is about skill.

2.Superman vs The Hulk - Who Would Really Win?
by Trevschan2
What's up guys so I thought I would do a video on who I think would win in a match or fight to the death between Superman Clark Kent and The Incredible Hulk Bruce Banner. This is a non biased breakdown of who I think would win between the two and who is stronger.

3.Versus Series: Dooku Vs Darth Malgus
by Jensaarai1 aka The Nerd-Rage Ranter
My return to my Versus series.

4.Versus Series: Darth Malgus Vs. Sora Bulq
by Jensaarai1 aka The Nerd-Rage Ranter
My first Versus Video of my second year on YouTube; an ancient Sith Warrior and a more contemporary fallen Jedi, both great swordsman and powerful Forcewielders and Darksiders.

5.Versus Series: Kit Fisto Vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi
by Jensaarai1 aka The Nerd-Rage Ranter
My latest versus video; two famed Jedi swordmasters.

6.Goku vs Superman - Who would win?
by Trevschan2
This is a video I am doing as a hypothetical match up between 2 of the most famous characters in all of comics and literature. This is a match up between Son Goku and The Man of Steel himself Superman.

YouTube Versus Video

The YouTube Versus Video is an online video-debate on YouTube whereby the host of the video will discuss a hypothetical fight involving some of the better known fictional protagonists from the media of films, television, graphic novels, and video games to decide the likely winner. The host of the video will aim to present the argument for both opposing protagonists in a fair and impartial manner; this process is achieved by highlighting all the relevant strengths and weaknesses (if any) of the opposing protagonists, as well as all relevant background and historical information relevant to the debate; after all the facts have been addressed, the host will then draw a conclusion as to who -- in their opinion -- would win the hypothetical fight based on all the relevant evidence. The YouTube Versus Video is not a one-way process, and the host will usually invite the (unbiased) opinions of viewers in the comments section of YouTube to discuss the fight. Note: the key difference between this type of video and others on YouTube, is this: other videos, often non-contentious, can BECOME a flame war when some viewers disagree with something or someone they've seen;the YouTube Versus Video is specifically for the purpose of sensible and unbiased comments about the fight being discussed. Furthermore, this video is not The Flame War Forum (theflamewarforum.friendhood.net), a forum that is entirely based around flame wars.
The following (below) are just a few examples -- with the actual comments of the hosts included -- of YouTube Versus Videos that can be found on YouTube:

1.Versus Series: Darth Malgus Vs. Sora Bulq

Versus Videos

Versus Videos are a type of online video on the website YouTube in which the host will discuss a hypothetical fight mainly involving fictional protagonists from graphic novels, films and television to determine the winner of the fight.
Versus Videos can be made by anyone, meaning anyone can adopt the mantle of an “expert” and present their opinions as facts to those viewers less aware of the topic; at times, the recurring issue for some viewers concerns the host's KNOWLEDGE of the opposing protagonist’s abilities and histories, rather than who would win the hypothetical battle. Rule of thumb: be careful who you listen to.
There are a general set of unwritten guidelines that YouTubers seem to adhere to, in no set order, when presenting a versus video: (a) the host of the versus video –regardless of their favourite character – should ALWAYS be fair and impartial about the fight; (b) the host of the versus video will discuss ALL the relevant historical and background information about the opposing protagonists; (c) the host of the versus video will discuss ALL the relevant strengths and weaknesses (if there’s any) of the opposing protagonists, and compare and contrast their respective abilities, skills and powers; (d) the host of the versus video will reach a conclusion, based on ALL the evidence, of how the hypothetical fight –in their UNBIASED opinion– will end; (e) the host of the versus video will usually seek the views and opinions of the viewers about the fight.
The following versus videos (below) –with the actual comments of the hosts included– can be found on the website, YouTube:

The striver is an interesting phenomenon that is seen across college campuses. In essence, the striver is an over-achiever who comes from a working or middle class family. He may be an immigrant. He may have been a slacker in HS who was "born again" into an academic wunderkind. Or he may just be an over-achiever who is keeping at it.

The striver is willing to sacrifice his social life at the expense of Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. The striver is the guy who stays at the library long after you are gone. The striver is the guy who takes 30 credits/semester and considers anything below an A/4.0 failure. The striver doesn't work on campus, he is too busy finding ways to pad his resume instead of working retail or workstudy. The striver lets his grades pay his education by applying to ten scholarships a year.

The striver is a future Soros/Fullbright/Rhodes/Gates/Marshall/etc. fellow. The striver lives to study. For the striver, their fun comes from the rewards they expect to receive in return for their diligence. Be it Law School, B-School, academia, or politics. The striver seeks to find the American Dream through academic success.
Anthony was a striver. He transfered from a TTT to an IVY and graduated in 2 years. He studied his ass off and went to Penn Law. He got a Biglaw offer. But lost it all because of an unmoderated mesasgeboard.

Successful strivers:
- Barack Obama
- Harold Koh

SkyPesos

Delta SkyMiles, also known as SkyPesos, is the frequent flyer program of Delta Airlines. It has a very poor value and hard to use.
- I'm trying to book an award flight to Paris, but I only have 70,000 SkyPesos
- Just forget about it, you don't have enough SkyPesos to fly anywhere.
