Unown is probably one of the scariest Pokemon ever. The reason it's scary is because it's not a Pokemon, it's a glitch. The glitch is that any interaction with it could wreack havoc in your game. It could even wipe away all the save data. Unown appears in only the Gameboy series of Pokemon games.
John: (Begins to cry)

John: I found an Unown while I was playing Pokemon Red, and I tried to fight it but it deleted my save data!

The first 26 Unown (A-Z) exist since the 2nd generation, being Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal, while the ! and ? Unown were added in the third generation, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald.
It has been classified as "scary" by many people because of a certain Creepypasta called "Pokémon Lost Silver", which is a story written about someone recieving a hacked version on Pokémon Silver, where a child has to navigate through creepy and glitchy caverns, while Unown are trying to tell him messages, only to end up dead at the end. This story is, like any Creepypasta, not real.
