Toolaboration

The act of working with an AI rather than just using it — the real back-and-forth where it weighs in, pushes back, and helps solve the thing, all in the knowledge that it'll forget every bit of it once you're done. The process; a toolaborator is the who, toolaboration is the what. Distinct from plain "using a chatbot" in that actual problem-solving happens between the two of you.
"That fix wasn't me and it wasn't the AI — it came out of the toolaboration. Three hours of arguing about Modbus registers, and between us we cracked it."

Toolaborator

An AI you put to work like a tool, but that actually works the problem with you like a collaborator — judgement, pushback, ideas and all — then forgets the entire thing the moment you close the chat. Half instrument, half offsider, fully amnesiac. Honest about both halves: brilliant in the room, blank the second you leave it.
I rebuilt my whole solar dashboard last night with my toolaborator — it cracked a bug I'd been stuck on for hours, argued with me about the fix, then forgot my name by morning."

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue?
