The act of going to therapy or administering therapy. Mainly used in a negative context by someone who is not telling their therapist the whole truth or a therapist who should have taken up another profession.

Especially people who are emotionally manipulative and will use their mental illness as a leverage to keep you in the relationship (e.g: “I’m going to kill myself if you dump me”). People who are therping believe that they are therapists and that they are going to magically cure or help this person, which they will of course not. If a friend is caught therping it is recommended to sit them down and calmly explain how they are being manipulated.
