The
absolute bare minimum version of an already simplified explanation. If Cliff Notes are the summary, the cliff of the Cliff Notes is the summary of that. Used when you just need enough information to
get through a conversation or when someone explains
something to you or another person and is extremely or unneccesarily brief.
Asking for it:
"I've got like 30 seconds before this meeting starts, just give me the
cliff of the cliff notes."
"I don't need the whole story, what's the
cliff of the cliff notes?"
"Bro I just woke up, cliff of the cliff notes, what happened?"
When someone gives it:
"She explained the entire situation in
one sentence. That was the cliff of the cliff notes."
"That was the cliff of the cliff notes, what do you mean 'that's all'?"
"He summed up a
two hour movie in like ten words. Cliff of the cliff notes if I've ever heard it."
