Soul Slide 

Noun - a brief moment in time in which one is devastated by a painful event. Often includes a sting-like feeling, chest pains, and sunken stomach.

Entymology: The term is taken from the lyrics of the Oasis hit "Don't Look Back in Anger". In the song, the term is used to describe the hurt feelings of "Sally" and the narrator:

"So Sally can wait
She knows it's too late
As she's walking on by
My soul slides away
But don't look back in anger
Don't look back in anger
I heard you say
At least not today"

Example #1:
(John gets report card and sees he got a B+)
John: Ah, a damn B+ in Japanese class!
(John's soul slides away)

Example #2:
(John and Joe witness the girl Joe had the hots for making out with some guy)
John: Isn't that the girl you like making out with Sluggo over there?
Joe: Yes. Yes it is.
(Joe's soul slides away)
