I've always understood it to be an abbreviated way of saying 'something like that' in my part of the southwest.

The Brits certainly thought we went native, or somesuch, in our attitudes here in the colonies.

Simply means "some similar (thing)".

A compound of the word "so" and the popular mispelling of awesome, "oresum". Notably the word doesn't make much sense if read on papaer until the reader tries to pronounce it.

That computer is soresum.
