A Human ( or animal if you feel like it ) that you are unsure of their gender, or you are afraid of misgendering, is in a state of Female, Male, ect. All at the same time until they indicated or state otherwise

The state of being where one is homosexual but also nonbinary, creating a state of both being and not being a (fe)male who likes (fe)males.

Schrödinger's Gender

A term used to describe a character that is never referred to as he or she, but isn't confirmed to be non-binary, and thus only becomes one of the 3 when one observes them

Shrodinger's Gender

The fandom culture phenomenon and unwritten rule that as long as a character cannot be definitively marked as cisgender, no explanation is required to justify portraying them as transgender even if nothing in the canon suggests that they are trans. In short, any character can either be cis or trans until observation proves them to be one or the other. The name "Shrodinger's Gender" derives from the classic Shrodinger's Cat theory, where a cat that is placed into a box designed to kill it cannot be definitively labeled as "dead" until observation proves it to be dead or alive. The sexuality equivalent to this is "Freud's Saygex".

Fan #1: I personally like to imagine Gordon is a trans man.

Fan #2: Why? There's nothing in the games that would suggest that he's trans.

Fan #1: Well, but then there's also nothing in the games that proves if he's cis or not, thus creating the Shrodinger's Gender phenomenon.
