1. Riggidy, or more broadly the suffix "iggidy" is derived from the insertion of syllables to fill a beat or bar while emceeing.

2. Popularized by the likes of A Tribe Called Quest and their contemporaries, and latterly adopted heavily by British drum n bass MCs, iggidy comes in many forms, but riggidy has been adopted as a semi-universal term meaning anything loosely "drum n bass". It is often used to convey agreement in a very drum n bass fashion. However the meaning of riggidy is very loose and can be used interchangeably with almost any term in a DnB context to covey a sense of intimacy with the situation or environment in statement / question is made.

3. The usage of riggidy can also extend beyond the field of drum n bass and be used interchangeably with many day to day non-drum n bass based terms.

NB: In many ways the closest analogue to the term "riggidy" is the term "forget about it" used by the Italian mafia to mean almost anything depending on the context of the conversation. The film "Donnie Brasco" has a scene with an excellent explanation of the term "forget about it".

The main difference between these two terms is found in the way when used in a day to day fashion, to some extent they also convey a subtle notion of familiarity with nuances of the social niches from which they are derived.
1. Classical use of riggidy:

I'm gonna riggidy rip your face off.

2a. Modern use of riggidy in a DnB based context to covey emphatic agreement:

"Was that some serious bad boy shit or what?"

An appropriate response to this would be;

"Riggidy",
"Well Riggidy"
or "Full Riggidy"

2b. One could alternatively replace the question with a riggidy based term, to;
a) Generalize the question, but infer that its drum n bass focused, in which case context and intonation play a major role in defining the meaning.
b) Emphasize the "Drum n Bassness" of the situation.
c) Give u something to say to your mate at a rave when ur too munted to come up with a proper question.

"Riggidy bo/boh?"

And again an appropriate response would be;

"Riggidy",
"Well Riggidy"
or "Full Riggidy"

3. Usage in day to day context.

Example A: Conveying agreement without inferring an aspect of drum n bass, but rather just a sense of familiarity.

Person A: "I just went to McDonalds and it was well crap, now I feel sick.
Person B: "riggidy"

Example B: Riggidy used in place of jiggy or intimate as well as conveying agreement inferring a sense of familiarity.

Person A: "Hey baby u want come over here and get all riggidy with me?"
Person B: "Mmmm, riggidy"
