Quarantinesgiving

It is a combination (portmanteau/neologism) of the words Quarantine and Thanksgiving. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, this can be viewed as a novel holiday in which Thanksgiving is celebrated during a quarantine typically accompanied by virtual parties and get-together via Zoom or Skype. Social-distancing and a minimal number of guests are urged for such a holiday, but not always abided by during such times like those of COVID-19.

John: Are you excited for Quarantinesgiving on Zoom?

Mary: Not really, this is sad and depressing, I wish we could be in person, but I guess it’s better than nothing.

John: Hang in there, we can enjoy a virtual meal, toast, and good chats amongst our family and friends while keeping safe and not spreading this damn virus.

Mary: Okay, you’re right! I guess I didn’t think of it that way; in that case, Happy Quarantinesgiving!!!

Quarantinship

Is essentially a virtual/Distant relationship that serves for quarantine companionship purposes during Pandemics quarantine, social distancing, and lockdowns. The selection of the partner is not based on certain mutual understanding, or admiration but is rather due to boredom, isolation, and a need to communicate with any INsignificant other. This quarantinship will most likely end with the end of the quarantine, and neither party will acknowledge it.

Ramy and I are in a quarantinship, we have been chatting, and talking non-stop since we started social distancing. Helps me look forward to something each day

A temporary relationship either emotional or physical, while quarantined.

Yeah I met him on him and Hinge and now we’re in a quarantineship. I want to meet up with him after the pandemic is over.

We’ve been spending so much time on the phone FaceTiming and texting that we’re in a quarantineship!

Quaranthirsty

Quarantine has made us all socially distant both literally and figuratively. The urge to want to hookup and have physical contact to the extreme makes one quaranthirsty. It’s like regular sexual thirsty but in the context of “quarantimes”.

Friend: “It’s been a while since I’ve had sex, do you think that grandpa over there could get it?”

Me: Girl, you’re quaranthirsty. Snap out of it, he’s like 70 years old...

Friend: “I wish I could see what’s underneath..“

Me: “His mask?”

Friend: “No girl, you know what I quaranmean ;)“
