(noun): A person with above or highly above-average proficiency in a certain domain (skill, territory, or field). Also used in a plural setting, commonly akin to a high-tier "jack of all trades."

The term springs from the word “pub.” A pub lord is one who essentially dominates pub-level people (AKA average-skilled lobbies), sitting just below "pro" competence but remaining untouchable by the regulars.

While first formally defined and established by the universal player ItzRealBoy, the term 'pub lord' has since circulated within gaming circles—most notably the osu!mania community. The term's origin is tied to the community discussion found in the comments of the YouTube video: 'osu!mania 2ky vs BossPlays // Free L-Town - Spongebob Squarewave PEANUT BUTTER JELLY' by Kurami, in which it was popularized.
Using “pub lord”, the most common form: “That guy is a total pub lord in Warzone; he has a 6.0 K/D in public matches and drops 30 bombs every night, but he never plays in professional tournaments because he prefers ruling the standard lobbies.”

Accepted spellings and variants: (Gender-neutral)
Pub Lord: The Formal Title (Capitalized when referring to the rank).
pub lord: The Slang/Noun (Standard everyday use).
publord: The Compound (Used to describe the archetype).
pub-lord: The Adjective (e.g., "He's doing some pub-lord activity").

More from Urban Dictionary
West Midlands slang word for rockers, bikers, greasers etc. In the late 1980s it was used by the UK music press to refer to a specific scene centered around the bands Pop Will Eat Itself and Crazyhead. The term never found favour with readers of 'the inkies' (Sounds, Melody Maker and the still extant NME) and was soon dropped. Now often used in predominantly working-class areas of the midlands and the north to mean someone who listens to rock-derived music and/or dresses in a manner that suggests they affiliate themselves with rock music of some kind.
