Playing hard to get

Some women play hard to get with a guy even when she doesn't find him attractive nor has any romantic interest in him. She just likes to be chased and passionately desired because it's like a power trip for her. Then, when she gets bored she just cuts him off, especially if she's an extremely attractive women who's aware of her own extreme attractiveness. Women like that have lots of options and usually get what they want, and it seems no matter how much you protest, no matter how cruel her actions are, she doesn't feel one ounce of sympathy because she has a legion of other guys that will drool over her and do her bidding. That's why it's so important not to immediately fall for women like that. I know it's difficult to resist a beautiful woman - very difficult, but you just have to precondition yourself to do it. Admire her beauty for a while, but if you sense that she's...that kind of girl, just move on.

Don't be anybody's fool, that's what I say. So, the whole playing hard to get thing is often not cute. For guys looking for something serious, it's potentially a waste of time.

Toe Rag

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.

Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

I thought she'd need multiple trips to carry her phone, keys, wallet, and Starbucks to her car since she needed the other hand to open the door, but she used her impressive girl grip to carry everything in one hand.
