(Noun/Verb) A shorthand for the power to instantly shift one’s viewpoint or "delete" a narrative from one's life. Often used when one decides a situation is no longer worth their energy.

Perspectopia

Perspectopia is a city in our minds.

It’s another dimension that we can all hang out in together and share an optimistic mindset on our lives. Whenever and wherever you are in your life, you can go there to clear your head and to be around others who share a similar mentality. It’s a metaphorical deep breath from our lives whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need an escape.

It’s a community that invites anyone to visit and to be a part of the culture that we are creating. The larger the population of Perspectopia is, the more people we can positively affect. Together, we can be a part of a movement that does good in this world.
I'll see you In Perspectopia..
Hey, you wanna meet in Perspectopia later?
Gotta make a quick stop in Perspectopia, I'll catch you later man!

cosmic perspective

The concept, understanding, idea, and/or knowledge that the Earth is a tiny mote of dust traveling around a medium-sized star on a spiral arm of the Milky Way galaxy with around 100 billion other stars in the galaxy, and there are 100 billion other galaxies (all with about 100 billion stars in each of them) in the Universe. Yet, the atoms that comprise life on Earth were forged in the center of a massive star that had to explode for us to live. We are seemingly insignificant, but very special at the same time, for we are literally star stuff.
Having the cosmic perspective is a humble, yet empowering realization.

Total Perspective Vortex

The most horrifying form of torture/punishment in the known Universe. The Total Perspective Vortex (it's so mind bogglingly terrifying it even gets Capital Letters) is a small, featureless steel box, barely big enough for one man to stand in.

The hopeless victims stand in the Vortex, and are suddenly shown, for the merest instant, the whole of the Universe: the whole infinity of creation, spanning over several trillion light years, and countless millennia, with an insignificant dot saying "You Are Here".

The victims, totally demoralised by their experience, fall dead from the vortex, wherupon they become the burden of the Vortex' custodian, Pizpot Gargravarr.

To date, Zaphod Beeeblebrox (former President of the Galaxy, and "The best bang since the Big one") is the only man to have survived the vortex, solely because he is a hoopy frood and the Vortex told him as much.
The total perspective vortex derives its picture of the whole Universe on the principle of extrapolated matter analyses.

To explain - since every piece of matter in the Universe is in some way affected by every other piece of matter in the Universe, it is in theory possible to extrapolate the whole of creation - every sun, every planet, their orbits, their composition and their economic and social history from, say, one small piece of fairy cake.

The man who invented the Total Perspective Vortex did so basically to annoy his wife.

Trin Tragula - for that was his name - was a dreamer, a thinker, a speculative philosopher or, as his wife would have it, an idiot.

And she would nag him incessantly about the utterly inordinate amount of time he spent staring out into space, or mulling over the mechanics of safety pins, or doing spectrographic amalyses of pieces of fairy cake.

"Have some sense of proportion!" she would say, sometimes as often as thirty-eight times in a single day.

And so he built the Total Perspective Vortex - just to show her.

And into one end he plugged the whole of reality as extrapolated from a single piece of fairy cake, and into the other end he plugged his wife: so that when he turned it on she saw in one instant the whole infinity of creation and herself in relation to it.

To Trin Tragula's horror, the shock completely annihilated her brain; but to his satisfaction he realised that he had proved conclusively that if life is going to exist in a Universe of this siz, then the one thing it cannot afford to have is a sense of proportion.

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."
