When somebody acts as if they understand their wrongdoings and accepts accountability, then later criticizes the person(s) holding them accountable. Often a tactic used to seek pity in an argument.
Person 1: I was totally wrong, and you’re right to break up with me. I’m so sorry. You should hate me for this.

Person 2: Yeah, I do hate you. You did a terrible thing to me. I’m glad I broke up with you.

Person 1: WHAT? WHY DO YOU HATE ME? URGGGGH, IM GONNA ARGUE ABOUT WHY I’M RIGHT NOW! PLEASE TAKE ME BACK!

Person 2: Sounds like all of that was just performative accountability…
