verb; To shank (miss) an easy kick in a football game. This can be a punt, kickoff, extra point attempt, or a field goal. If your grandmother could kick it, chances are Palardy could not. Hence, only applied to the most inexcusable inaccuracies in athletics.

This is so-named for the famously inept Michael Palardy, statistically the worst kicker in SEC history.
Dude 1: Last I saw, they had the ball inside the 5 for the game-winning field goal. How'd they lose?
