Nonvitation

A non-invitation a person gives another (to an event, party, etc) - with the hidden intention that the non-vited person will not attend.
A nonvitation is usually given out of politeness.
When Cynthia bumped into me and Michal in the street - she invited us to her birthday. Cynthia is Michal's friend but not mine, so this was probably a nonvitation.
