Nepalophobia

(noun)

A psychological fear or anxiety of being stuck in one's own country, especially as one grows older. It is often associated with the belief that staying in the home country will lead to limited personal growth, lack of opportunities, or an unfulfilling life.

It all started with Nepali adults who, nearing their twenties, began expressing a deep fear of being stuck in their country with limited job prospects, poor governance, and few opportunities. Over time, this fear grew common among youth in similar countries, eventually inspiring the term "Nepalophobia" to describe this shared anxiety. Though rooted in Nepal, the word now represents a global mindset.
