Business term for an over-complicated metaphor or expression.
Popularised by Nick Lodge in his book "Business Consulting: A Bluffer's Guide"
External Consultant: "New hardware would be a useful catalyst to leverage our capabilities across the value chain."
Internal employee: "Overpaid fool. That's just a Lodgism for Buy a new PC and it will make things better."
or
Manager: I've been stir-frying some ideas in my think-wok.
Employee: (with heavy irony) And have you come up with any new Lodgisms then?

Longism

A task, activity or event undertaken by an individual that should take a short amount of time to complete but ends up getting sidetracked & takes hours or even days to complete.
I was supposed to be picked up at 1pm its now 4pm.
3 phone calls later & he's only just left the house. What a longism!
