Light Petting 

It is the less intense version of petting and hard petting. So the thing you do when you are still to uncomfortable to do actual petting. This includes giving each other massages, hair stroking, and kisses along the neck and face.
We both agreed that we weren’t readyt for anything too sexual yet. So we decided to do some light petting instead.
