Flower is a hypernym of Rose.

Colour is a hypernym of orange.
Animal is a hypernym of dogs/cats.

hyperonym 

a word that would denote something in excess or excessive.

'Overabundance' is a hyperonym for 'abundance'. So is 'hypercautious' for 'cautious'.
