horrorstalgia

That sickening feeling when you remember horrible or exceedingly embarrassing everyday occurrences from childhood or 'the good old days'. This usually comes just after some happy memory of the past and while basking in the nostalgic glory when suddenly a horrible recollection of reality intrudes.
