Horizontal Role
1. A corporate execution method in which a single employee is transitioned into a cross-functional position and tasked with supporting multiple vertical business units simultaneously.
2. The inevitable physical or mental collapse of an over-allocated worker when the exponential workload of competing priorities becomes unsustainable, causing gravity to take over and leaving the employee lying flat (horizontally) on the office floor.
