Homerism

In sportcasting, having a bias toward your hometown team or toward the team for which you play/used to play.
The local newspapers practice homerism, predicting that the hometown teams will win and complaining about the refs when the local teams lose.

Homerism

Being blindly devoted to your favorite sports team wether they are good or not.
Saying clearly untrue things about your favorite team (i.e. Jamarcus Russell was the best qb ever)
Should only be used in a derogatory way of describing an annoying fan (i.e. Lakers "fans")
person 1: I can't believe kobe didnt get that foul call, he got hammered there
Person 2: Dude, no one touched him, you can clearly see in the replay no one was within 3 feet of him
Person 1: Thats b.s. man its just the angle of the camera
Person 2: Classic case of homerism

Hamerism

like a mannerism - reference to a slang word used in Framingham, Massachusetts: a Hamerism within itself.
OppaBomba is a Hamerism because it's definition, although Jamaican, stems from its use in Framingham.

homerism

What sports announcers have nowadays. Hawk Harrelson, for example. Dude is just a cheerleader instead of an actual broadcaster.
Duane Kuiper, a broadcaster for the Giants, shows that he sucks at this job because of his homerism.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
