field hockey goalie

one of the awesome 11 players playing field hockey. very brave and courageous for let those rock hard balls fly at her. and no it is not just about stopping the ball it is about breaking the other teams confidence level. Definatly one of the coolest players on the field but she also realizes that she could not do it without her team mates and at the end of the game the teammates should run to he so that she is part of it. She out of all the players deserves the most respect she has one of the hardest jobs. when the goalie closes her eyes she sees the ball go into goal when a field player closes their eyes they just see the ball go bye them to someone else.
you know a field hockey goalie is awesome just look at what they wear and tell me they are not tough

Field Hockey Goalie

Probably one of the most important players on a field hockey team- you can't win without a good goalie.
Only the toughest and strongest girls can be good field hockey goalies. They are brave enough to let girls drive balls at over 90mph straight at them. Most people think that goalies are just one big wall of padding, but some pads have gaps in coverage that can result in extremely painful injuries if hit. Imagine getting hit with a ball going over 90mph, straight in your thigh or hip- that's what it's like to be a goalie. Balls often pop up, so goalies need to deal with shots to the arms, hips, and thighs.

Goalies have to be quick and agile, even in bulky pads. Not only is it a physical game for goalies, but it's mental, too. Goalies have to be able to bounce back quickly if (god forbid) a goal is scored on them. If an offender, middie or defender misses the ball, there's always a chance to reclaim possession. If a goalie misses a ball or misjudges her timing, then the other team scores. Offenders, mids, or defenders take heat for not winning the game, but the goalies take heat for loosing the game. Goalies have a hard job because if the defenders aren't doing what they're supposed to do, or are playing like crap, then the goalie has no hope, and will still be blamed for the loss.
Goalies are tough, courageous, determined, and extremely skilled players in one of the most aggressive sports out there. There's no one else like them.

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.

funiosity

The art of being peculiar, but in an amusing fashion.

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
