Energotheosis
Energotheosis – The process of divinization (becoming like God) through participation in divine energy. Common in Eastern Orthodox theology, where theosis isn’t about merging with an abstract essence but about receiving God’s “uncreated energies” (grace, light, power) while remaining a distinct creature. Energotheosis treats spiritual transformation as an energy transfer: through prayer, virtue, and sacraments, one becomes radiant with divine power.
Example: “After years of contemplative practice, he felt a warmth that wasn’t physical—energotheosis, the slow burn of becoming godlike by absorbing the divine current.”
