He has thrown a Canadian Jersey over his head 3 times, once in the IIHF Ivan Hlinka Tournament, once in the IIHF U-18 Championships and lastly, for the World Juniors where he got his nickname as "Canada's hero". Scoring with 5.4 seconds on the clock, on Team Russia's Vadim Zhelobnyuk to tie the game.
