The taking in turns to purchase food snacks, e.g. crisps, nuts, pork scratchings, for your friends at the pub to keep their hunger at bay whilst they have a number of alcoholic beverages on an evening out. Seldom will it be anyone's responsibility to buy a normal round (of drinks) and a 'dry round' at the same juncture, although this is optional for those who are particularly generous or those trying to curry favour with their drinking companions. Not to be confused with a 'dry ride' which is something different entirely. Beware of confusing the two phrases when being served by a large chested, attractive barmaid.
I am thoroughly enjoying this pint of beer but tell me fellas who's turn is it to buy a dry round?
