Dootritus

Dog feces on a public trail or park that blends in with other organic material. May be partially decomposed but still sticks to your shoes or bicycle tire and is hard to remove and smells bad.

Darn it, I just ran over some dootritus, watch out!

digital detritus 

The thousands of email addresses, blogs, GeoCities sites, AngelFire and Tripod pages that are floating around cyberspace, neglected by creators who have forgotten the passwords to the accounts.

I made a GeoCities page when I was in high school and have no idea what the URL is, it's just another piece of digital detritus now.

Stuff left behind, shit that no one wants. From Latin. Often used when the speaker expects that the listener won't know what the word means. This word is commonly used to describe the pile of bones and feathers that the hawk leaves behind after he eats the pigeon.

Floor detritus

The small bits of unwanted fluff, carpet fibers, paper scraps, lint balls, food crumbs, pet related waste, and other general trash that accumulates on the floor between cleanings.

Today my 9 month old reached out and handed me the bit of floor detritus she found instead of immediately putting it in her mouth!
