The act of trying to please anyone, or everyone you can.
Sometimes relating only to one person, or multiple people.

"Hey man, Jake has doormat syndrome so bad, he's always trying to please someone."

"Ya I know, its sad sometimes, I wonder what he'd do for me?"

Asian Doormat Syndrome (ADS)

Asian Doormat Syndrome (more commonly discussed as the "eastern doormat effect" or westerner-pleasing syndrome in collectivistic cultures) refers to how individuals in Asian countries and of Asian cultural background chronically worship European people and culture and suppress their own needs to maintain harmony with, fit in with, respect the superiority of, or avoid conflict with foreigners—specifically people of European descent or countries such people originate from.

It stems from deep-rooted cultural values—such as people-pleasing, low self-esteem, and conflict avoidance.
