Dodge the Dog

1) Avoiding the person you are semi-embarrassed for having been involved with, as in a one night stand.

2) Avoiding the spouse or significant other.

1) "Man, I just managed to dodge the dog. Lucky you were here to talk to so I didn't have to acknowledge that dude I hooked up with last week."

2) Joe: You having dinner at home with the wife, aren't you?

Jim: Nah I'm dodging the dog tonight and was gonna come play poker with you and the guys.
