circle dance

A dance done a closed or open circle (depending on the culture). You'd hold hands of those next to you in the dance and follow the leader in the circle. In some cultures they hold fingers, shoulders and even waists (bunny hop).

Circle dancing is the most common and oldest type of dance in Europe and the Middle East. It's more of a sacred or spiritual dance among Celts and Brits, whilst it's more party oriented for those in the southern Europe and Middle East.

It is not to be confused with line dance where there is no physical contact between the dancers.

circle dance

A ritual dance that takes place after circle time. This dance is only to be used by people who are mature and smart enough to handle it. It is a great honor to be invited to participate in the "circle dance!"
