DYEF stands for Do You Even Fish. It's for someone that at first sight may look like they might fish, they have the gear and participate in fishing related forums, but on closer examination they don't know what they are talking about and suck and fishing. It's mostly applied for people that go fishing, talk about fishing, spend money on fishing but never catch anything.
"Even after a thousands of dollars spent on fishing gear I still can catch anything and people ask DYEF?"
