Clambonita

A Tiger and a Lion in battle.

It comes from the dead alien language of Zupster and talks of the mighty mythical warriors Clamb and Onita who fought to the death, the gods envied their valor, and instead of letting them die of their wounds instead turned them into two ravenous beasts, to their shock the two creatures continued to fight, horrified by their stupidity they sent them to earth where they couldn't get in the way.

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue?
