Cabasa

A percussion instrument made with loops of steel ball chain wrapped around textured metal on a wide cylinder with an attached handle. Usually made of wood or plastic. Sound is produced when the loops are scraped over the metal. Similar to the shekere, and African instrument with a net of strung beads over a hollowed out gourd.

The percussion section was hot! Did you see the girl playing the cabasa?!
