CBD oil is extracted from hemp plants, also called cannabis, which are grown under strict regulation in Canada. It is one of the remaining dozen named cannabinoids in the cannabis plant and accounts for approximately 40% of its herbal extract. It has been found to be quite effective in reducing certain side effects related to certain types of cancer, such as pain and vomiting, but research has not proven its effectiveness in treating other ailments.
