Bradley Manning

Bradley E. Manning is a United States Army soldier who was arrested in May 2010 in Iraq on suspicion of having passed classified information to the whistleblower website, Wikileaks. He is currently awaiting a hearing to decide whether he will face a court martial. Source .- Wikipedia

My own description:
Bradley Manning is a hero. He leaked to Wikileaks around 250,000 cables with information about the Iraq and Afghan war. Including a video released with the title "Collateral Murder", in which soldier in an Apache helicopter murder several civilians and injure others (including 2 children).

For exposing that information and the war crimes in it, he is currently being held in Quantico, VA. He is being held in solitary confinement in a 6' x 12' cell, which is a cruel punishment that has very harmful physical and psychological side effects. Some people have even called out for him to be executed.
Is this how we treat a hero? Is this how we treat someone who saw the corruptness, the lies, the murders in the secret files he had access to and exposed them for the world to see what was happening? The government officials that allowed this and the war profiteers are the ones that should be locked up, not this young hero! It takes more courage to stand up to the system than to go with it. This man's courage should be an example of honesty and human decency, not an unspeakable crime! Seriously, this world is going straight to hell.

Bradley Manning

Bradley E. Manning is a United States soldier who was arrested in May 2010 in suspicion of having passed classified information to the whistleblower website, Wikileaks and its founder, Julian Assange...

Bradley Manning is a hero who has exposed the evils committed by the government and he has not gotten anyone killed. He is not a traitor, the real traitors are in places of power and are looked up to, its all the bankers and the politicians who sign take us to these wrong wars
Before hating Bradley Manning, consider this quote:
"Many people, especially ignorant people, want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind. Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is still the truth."

flophouse

Any house/apartment/frat house/trailer/etc. which is used for individuals to crash (sleep, chill, hang out, lurk, etc.) for a period of time. In order to "crash", one must not actually live there (e.g. have their name on the lease, own said flophouse, etc.). Flophouses are typically used by college students, drug addicts, transients, vagrants, or other unsavory characters.

A flophouse may also be the home owned by the parents of a college student, who after being away at college, wishes to live as if he/she is still at college (e.g. staying out all night, returning just to crash at mom and dad's house, then leaving again), rather than conforming to the pre-college rules.
Example #1
Dude: (Talking to someone passed out face first on the floor of his college apartment) Hey man, who the hell are you? What do you think this is, a flophouse??

Bro: Sorry dude, I must have passed out for a minute.

Example #2
Mom: Where have you BEEN for the last three days? You come home just to sleep?? What do you think this is, a flophouse??!!

Son: What's your problem? I'm an adult now!

Hate Sink

A person you hate intensely not because they deserve such hatred but because they serve as a focus for your general hatred. A healthy way to dispense with excess animosity.
Jake's not really that big an asshole. He just serves as my hate sink.

funiosity

The art of being peculiar, but in an amusing fashion.
"Wow, look at that dog running on three legs"

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
