The Boeing 727 is a mid-sized American plane, mid-Range, narrow-body, trijet (3 engined) aircraft. It was built by Boeing Commercial Airplanes from 1962 - 1984. The story behind the aircraft consisted of, a smaller Boeing 707 with cheaper fuel costs, and the capability to land at smaller airports. The Boeing 727 had a larger and more advanced flap system to land at the smaller airports as-well-as taking off at smaller runways, but this caused 3 major crashes all around 5 months from each other due to pilots not understanding the system. The Boeing 727 had a small gas-turbine engine auxiliary power unit or also known as an, (APU). Range of the 727, 2,250 nmi (4,170 km), Max passenger capacity 106.
