Asberger’d

Asberger’d (verb, slang)

Pronounced: az-BUR-gerd

Definition: The self-destructive final phase of extreme intellectual hyperfocus, where an individual—typically someone with obsessive tendencies or an intense drive for cognitive performance—begins to experience cognitive decline. In an attempt to compensate, they resort to performance-enhancing substances, stimulants, or nootropics, which ultimately accelerate their deterioration, leading to burnout, mental instability, and a state resembling severe low-functioning autism. Often marked by a tragic loss of previous abilities, social withdrawal, and an inability to function at even a basic level.
“He was once a genius, but after years of pushing his limits with smart drugs, he completely Asberger’d himself.”

“Bro went full Asberger’d trying to outthink his own brain decay.”

“That guy used to be brilliant, but now he’s just a shell—classic case of getting Asberger’d.”

You think me an old fogeyand an old tory, his thoughtful voice said. I saw three generations since O’Connel’s time. I remember the famine. Do you know that the orange lodges agitated for repeal of the union twenty years before O’Connel did or before the prelates of your communion denounced him as a demagogue? You fenians forget some things. (James Joyce, Ulysses. Penguin Books,1992. p. 38)
