Alice in Wonderland Syndrome

This is when you find yourself in a situation where you are the only person in the room who makes any sense. When it bothers you to be the only sane person at the "mad tea party" you are suffering from Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.
I attended a business meeting where management and my teammates decided to blatantly lie and mislead our customers. I was the only one who had a problem with this. When I spoke up, I was told to stop making trouble and to start being a team player. I fell into Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.

Alice in wonderland syndrome

This is a real and serious mental illness like depression, its just not nearly as common. Its when things seem either smaller or larger than they actually are. Or when something seems farther or closer than it actually is.
Patient : I look bigger to myself than most people see me as.
Doctor : you may have Alice in wonderland syndrome

Alice in wonderland syndrom

Alice in wonderland syndrome (AIWS/AWS), also called Todd syndrome is a neurological and harmless syndrome where someone’s surroundings are distorted and people and/or objects might be hallucinated smaller (micropsia), bigger (macropsia), further away (teleopsia) or closer (pelopsia). These episodes usually last 10-20 minutes and can be triggered by migraines, nervousness, specific lighting and fevers. Side symptoms during an episode (can) include dizzyness, sensory hallucinations, body dysmorphia in limbs, difficulty to focus and relax your eyes and losing sense of time. Alice in wonderland is not easily diagnosed due to the fact many cases happen to be in children, who are usually too afraid to tell a parent/adult or aren’t understood when describing their hallucinations. Most children grow out of their Alice in wonderland syndrome at the end of their childhood.
“Did you ever see objects in your room shrink for a while when you were a kid?”
“Yes, it is called Alice in wonderland syndrome”
“Oh, how come its called that?”
“Because it refers to Alice’s body shrinking and growing abnormally in the story, but another name for the condition is Todd syndrome”
“And why’s that?”
“Because someone named Todd was the first person to elaborate his experience with the syndrome.”

Shackteâu

A Shackteau is a humble, weather-beaten, structurally questionable shelter located in a spectacular or highly coveted place—Wales, Jackson Hole, Sun Valley, Crested Butte, coastal Maine, the Alps—where the building itself may be worth almost nothing, but the dirt, view, access, and mythology make it absurdly valuable.
In use:
Shackteâu - We thought it was an abandoned shed until the realtor called it a rare alpine Shackteâu with unobstructed views and listed it for $2 million.
