Acknowlogize

Or "Acknowlogy"

When one doesn't actually apologize. Instead, they acknowledge that they have done wrong without actually saying sorry. Or someone trying to make you laugh after they realized they upset your feelings. They know they made a mistake, but use jokes and/or gifts as a way of saying sorry.

"Rather than my husband saying sorry, he acknowlogized by giving me flowers instead"

When you both recognize that you've 1)been wrong about something or 2)have hurt/insulted someone AND want to apologize for said transgression with the convenience of a single world

1. To recognize ones action (past, present, or potential) and convey, simultaneously, that one understands that the action has/may/will cause some harm and they’re genuinely sorry for that but no other better option was identified. sorry, not sorry
