a term used to specify words associated with negative connotations are meant in a positive light. rather than an insult, they are a compliment. the opposite of the term (derogatory).

A type of relationship characterized by long, flirty conversations, "dates", make-out sessions, and/or sexual activity, but completely devoid of commitment or attachment.
E didn't want an intense boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, so we decided to be just affectionate friends

An affectionate bite is when the act of biting is performed in such a way that is meant to portray happiness and love to the bitee. It is not intended to harm or injure (although these are possible side effects) but instill friendliness in a oral form.

affectionate zombie

Another term for the mentally challenged. They move slow, they slur their speech, but unlike real zombies, they don't want to eat your brains. They only want hugs.
After the Special Olympics, I was overrun by a hoard of affectionate zombies.

Affectionate Buddies 

to have an ongoing emotional and sexual relationship with another without being in a full on relationship together. the parties have been previously in a relationship with one another. the emotional attachment in this relationship is great, meaningful, and may even be love, but may not be announced publicly. the parties think about each other a great deal, and may communicate quite often. this is all in hopes getting back together in future.

feelings will include the need to; hold, see, talk, kiss, look deeply into each others eyes, caress body, run fingers through hair, fall asleep, cuddle, feed each other, love.
jane and john are dating, they break up, months after they realize they miss each other, they begin to become Affectionate Buddies in hopes to rekindle their previous relationship with one another although their love is already apparent.

This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge.
