(Proper noun / registered trademark) Music TeleVision for Universities. Insufferable pop trash and advertisement network that relentlessly targets the college student audience. MTVU especially tries to cultivate a loyal following from the Spring-Break Party Animals and Trendy Airheads, both of whom comprise the vast majority of the college demographic these days. The whole point of MTVU is to make money, of course. By negotiating contracts to have their inane audiovisual sewage piped into college cafeterias and similar public places on campus, MTVU hopes to brainwash its captive audience into a bunch of pop-culture-crazed, money-spending zombies.

After a year of exposure to MTVU, Derek gave up studying, threw away his bluegrass records and replaced them with 50 Cent, went on a month-long drunken spring break in Cancun, became a bitch for Abercrombie, started dating promiscuous airheaded cheerleaders, bought a Hummer with his parents' money, and entered the wasted brotherhood of Sigma Upsilon Kappa. a television network that claims to play music and once upon a time did, but now they just have shows to make people feel insucure and worthless unless they are perfect and popular. they aren't even about music (as their name claims to be) any more. people think that it is aimed for people in their teens, but now their are little 10 year olds watching and being brain washed into thinking that is how they should act to be "popular". basically it evil and corruptive, and don't watch!

10 year old girl: "i was watching MTV last night and they got all drunk and crazy on The Real World, so i decided to try by drinking way too much alcohol and getting into fights"
god: "so that is how you died"

What ruined music. MTV killed jazz, murdered rock, raped hip hop, and brought emo from the underground to the mainstream (the equivalent of unleashing the black plague). Tells you to stick it to the man while MTV is a corporate organization, (i.e. "the man" in its truest form).

MTV

A tv station that used to play music for rebals who hate pop and rap music (a.k.a. punk), but changed its music style to pop and rap to brain wash teens and people in their 20's to listen and buy pop/rap albums. basically music suicide. also plays a bunch of reality shows (the newlyweds , the real world, etc.) cartoons (bevis and butthead) skater/'punk*yeah right*' shows (viva la bam, punk'd, jackass, etc.) they shouldn't have changed their music style, cuz now they just play a bunch of has-been bands, sell-outs, rap crap, and pop. meh. stick to vh1 or maybe the radio, unless you actually like the music they play (like a kagillion other people)
