swooper

The person who makes the first move in new romantic relationships. Typically, one person will be the swooper or more of a swooper than the other person. The swooper is the person who hits on on the other person, asks them out on a date, reaches over to hold their hand the first time, leans in for the first kiss, etc.

Jen: Tell me about how you guys met. Who swooped who?
Maria: We knew each other for a while, but he wouldn't do anything, so I finally had to ask him out.
Rod: Yeah, she's always been the swooper.

swoopsgiving

A holiday that takes place during the month of November in which friends attempt to "swoop" or take over possession of their friends' girlfriends, significant others or love interests. All girls/boys of friends or collegues are fair game and one cannot be upset with a friend or collegue if his or her significant other or love interest is swooped upon. It is customery to make a bird symbol with one's hands and decree "Caaa Caaa" in reference to a bird sound (probably that of a crow) once a swoop is completed. Leaving your victim a can of "Swoops" candy upon the completetion of a swoop upon said individual is also customery.

James: Sorry I swooped on your girl, it's November and you know what that means... Swoopsgiving. Caaa Caaa!

1. A part of one's entourage, generally a male, known for their excessive use of "swoop," a tactic where one attempts to pick-up a female who is already clearly being macked on by one of their friends.

Male 1: "WTF?! That guy in the Spartan costume totally came in and started mackin' on the girl I was talking to!"
Male 2: "He's a total 'Swoop Dawg.' Actually, that's what we call him. You didn't know?"
