calchottie

The absolutely gorgeous brunette in your calculus class. Her body is spectacular. Her intelligence makes her all the more attractive. You desperately want to talk with her and get to know her, but you are somewhat older and fear that the age difference would just be too weird. You wonder if she would be interested in studying together.
In my calculus (M408D) section at the University of Texas Austin, the calchottie sits in the front row on the right hand side.

Calcium

(Chemi symbol Ca) A chemical element with atomic number of 20 and a molar mass of 40.08 grams.
In terms of physical properties, it's melting point is 1115°K or 842 °C (1548 °F) and boiling point is 1757 or 1484 °C (2703 °F). It's density is 1550 kg/m3 and it's molar volume is 26.20 cm3.
In terms of chemical properties: it is a group 2 metal (or Alkaline Earth Metal) with 2 electrons in the outermost valency shell. As well as 2, 8, and 8 electrons in it's 1st, 2nd and 3rd shell respectively, which are not used in chemical bonding.
Calcium ions typically have a charge of 2+ and exist in aqueous calcium salt solutions. Calcium exists, chemically bound, in human bones to provide strength as well as in Marble structures.
Calcium is not naturally found in its chemical form due to it's relatively high reactivity. However, it is the 5th most abundant element in the earth's crust. Elemental Calcium can be extracted through a process of smelting and electrolysis. It reacts spectacularly in water or when ignited in an oxygen rich atmosphere.
Calcium used for experimentation in labs is usually a dull greyish colour because the surface has been oxidised by atmospheric oxygen.

Calculus

The mathematical equivalent of saying "probably" "maybe" or "don't know" instead of "absolutely" "certainly" or "definately"
Mother: "Yes or no, did you rob from the bank?"

Son: "Um well, probably, maybe I don't know. I don't remember"

Mother: "I want a straight answer, yes or no!"

Son: "Yes or no in this case is the equivalent of an indeterminate form in the Calculus branch of mathematics, they are integer values. Do integer values actually exist in this universe as they are absolute values? I am merely coming as close to these inexplorable limits as possible by exploring derivatives and close values. In this case these would best be expressed as "probably" or "don't know."

ap calculus

Class offered in some high schools. Introduces pretty basic mathematical concepts compared to "advanced" math. Frequently described as "impossible," "retarded," and "useless" by many students, but occasionally enjoyed by uber-nerds who later go on to become obscenely rich and hire the aforementioned students as manservants.
Joe Cool: "AP Calculus sucks monkey balls. Let's go get wasted."

Uber-nerd: "Wow, partial differential equations are fascinating. With some minor modifications, I bet these formulas could even predict the stock market..."
