KomPact music

The name is a portmanteau of Kompa and Compact, a sub-genre of Compas direct (French) (Haitian Creole: "konpa"), or kompa, the four-on-the-floor, upbeat genre that was invented in the 1950s, by Nemours Jean-Baptiste.

For short, KomPak is a modern style of Haitian dance music originating from the Haitian Diaspora.
The term was coined in 2018 by René Guemps, the Founding member of NYC-based independent label Negre Marron Records

Key stylistic element:

Vocals include a blend of SingRapping, Kompa. Modern

are sung in Haitian French-Creole, Crenglish, and Franglish, usually Feature a Lead a guest artist or Backing Vocalist or a Rapper who 'd contribute a guest verse.

Unlike traditional Compas Dirèk which uses dozen-piece ensembles with large horn sections

include (Trompet, Trombone, alto/tenor saxes)

and the two congueros or "tanbou", one of the most distinctive characteristics of compas music
Which is also a trait common to many styles of Caribbean music and other percussion (gong, cowbell, guiro).

Now a days the physical typical musical instruments are rarely used and are replaced to smaller outfits featuring the use of electronic music technology, such as synthedisers, samplers, electronic percussion, backing track, Sequencers, Drum Machine, Loops, Sound effects, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument, Keytar, Keybass, MIDI, Drum machines, Melody, Personal computers and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW)..

KompAfro-Zouk

A fusion of Haitian Kompa, French Carribean Zouk and Central African popular Music which is sung in Haitian- Creole & French Caribbean lyrics.

The name is a portmanteau of the Haitian Kompa , AftoBeat at and Zouk music originating from French-Creole and Crenglish speaking countries of the Caribbean, the Antilles such as Haiti, Martinique, Dominica, Guadeloupe as well as Canada, France and some cities in North and South America (especially New York City and Miami) It is also found in Western & Central Africa ,such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d'Ivoire , Cape Verde.

KompAfro-Soul is played in nightclubs from mainly the French-Creole speaking countries of the Caribbean.

KomPalindrome

KomPalindrome, the name is a portmanteau of Haitian Kompa, Palindrome a unique compositional technique originating from French-Creole, speaking countries of the Caribbean.

It's when artist Rap-Sing a Haitian Kompa or Rap song forward, that has a complely differeent meaning when it sang Backward.

The whole idea is to chant-rap-Sing something forward and backward and have it means 2 different things both ways.

Vocals, Sing-Rapping, speach, spoken word, Beats, MIDI System Drum set, Chant-Rap, Drum Machine, 808, Synthesisers, EWI, DAW, Electric Bass/Guitar, Keytar, Keybass, Guest artist or Backing Vocalist or a Rapper who 'd contribute a guest verse.

KompRap

KompRap, the name is a portmanteau of Kompa and Rap, a sub-genre of Kompa & Beat, commonly abbreviated as K&B, originating from the Haitian diaspora, which combines elements of old school Haitian Kompa with Creole Rap or Hip-Hop music.

Key stylistic element:
Vocals include a blend of singing, Rapping, Chant-Rapping, often in Crenglish or Franglish, and usually Feature a Lead artist, Backing Vocalist and a guest artist who 'd contribute a guest verse.

Common variants include the verse-Instrumental-verse form and the thirty-two-bar form, with a focus on
feature puns, play on words and suggestive phonetic combinations, but the lyrics often contain long series of lines each of which rhyme with each other.

KompaForró

It's a hybrid style of music which incorporate elements of the Brazilian Forró singing and lyrical melodies and combine them with Haitian Kompa themes, Musical Structures and Instruments.

The rhythms is generally dance to a mid-tempo with a One, Two beat and an arrangements of Common time or a 4/4 time Signature and a slow tempo are kept around 96/ to 110 BPM (beats per minute,) which emphasize the song's melody and harmonies.

Key stylistic element:
Vocals include a blend of SingRapping, which are sung by lead Artist or singers, Backing Vocalist or a Rapper of Brazilian origin, who 'd contribute a (8 or 16 bar) Big guest verse

Unlike traditional Forró music which uses a large metal triangle, accordion, zabumba (Afro-Brazilian drum), bass drum and guitar (called the viola)

KompaForró musical instruments feature the use of electronic music technology, which include:

Kompa Indirèk

Kompa Indirèk is a modern style of the Haitian Compas Direct (Haitian Créole Konpa Dirèk), “the percussion-heavy, rhythmic dance music“ of Haiti that emphasizes musical instruments and features very little or no singing with elements of Sook, KomPop, Compas and Blues, Frenglish R&B and Kompa-Forró.

The physical typical musical instruments are rarely used and are replaced to smaller outfits featuring the use of electronic music technology, such as Drums kits, Electric Bass, Keybass/ Electric Guitars, Keytars, Synthesiser, samplers, electronic percussion, backing track, Sequencers, Drum Machine, Loops, Sound effects, EWI (Electronic Wind Instrument, Keytar, Keybass, MIDI, Drum machines, Melody, Personal computers and Digital Audio Workstations (DAW).

Other elements which are played by electromechanical musical instruments include:
One soukous-like sinuous twining lead guitar and the other one is a trebly rhythm guitars and the pulsing repeated melodic basslines.
